Public consultation: making the case for a £16bn infrastructure project

We created the brand image and designed communications for Crossrail through four phases of public consultation. We created literature, exhibitions, websites, consultation spaces, public information and more. We then designed and produced all of the documentation that formed the submission to parliament for royal assent of the Crossrail Act 2008.

Crossrail commissioned a series of 12 paintings to record significant events along the route - our team and Crossrail staff were depicted in one of them

Long gestation

Crossrail had been talked about for 40 years when we began working with the Corporate Affairs team. There was a definite sense of purpose but the case for a railway was far from being made. We were involved in building a case from the early years of public consultation through to the final parliamentary submission and beyond.

We worked with Crossrail on every aspect of communication: developing the brand identity, producing public consultation materials, even designing a shop.
