Carbon Trust green growth case studies

Design and production for CT Green Growth campaign

The Carbon Trust's Green Growth campaign involved demonstrating the value that Carbon Trust advice can have on business. UXB were asked to research, write, then design 7 case studies for the campaign for use in online and offline communications. As Green Growth was a national, public-facing campaign the Stakeholder and Communications Manager at Carbon Trust asked that the tone and style be made more accessible and engaging while still demonstrating the serious and factual basis of the organisation's work.

Each case study began with desk research and interviews with the account managers responsible for the businesses concerned. On occasion this would involve meetings at the Carbon Trust office. Drafts were written up to an agreed length and discussed with the client and the account managers. Amendments were made before the client showed the client company and approved the copy for design. As well as writing the copy UXB, proofed the document throughout the publications development, providing several stages of sense, grammar and spell-checking.

The case studies were short but needed to be impactful. Working within the guidelines we made each case study punchy and engaging. We put the key facts in coloured boxes, created pull-out quotes and used supplied images to lend visual support to the content.

Carbon Trust were able to call on UXB to provide a complete service for the production of these publications. We researched, wrote, edited and designed the case studies and they are proving an important tool in demonstrating the value of the Carbon Trust to business, government and the public.
