Gold awards

Making a shining example of a leading Housing award.

Launched in 2005, the Gold Award is the Housing Corporation’s Award for Excellence. They were set up to identify and reward examples of best practice in social housing and to share these with others in the sector. They’re also worth £50,000 each for the winners.

Golden opportunity

Although only two years old the Housing Corporation felt that the existing look and feel and tone of voice did not reflect their aspirations for the awards. They asked us to revitalise the Gold Award for 2007 by creating a new and distinct identity that would position the award as the leading endorsement in the social housing sector.

Bright future

The first thing we did might seem obvious, we added gold. We introduced gold to the award identity, debossing it and using gold as a colour on print materials, such as the Call for Entries and Entry Form. Our flexible solution also took account of the two themes for each year’s award, combining them in one single image.

We have set design standards that will help future Gold Awards shine.
